Transformation is an original design with a monarch butterfly alighting on spring flowers. This piece was inspired by a photo I took of this butterfly at the Botanic Gardens. It hung at the Texas Quilt Museum’s All Creatures Great and Small exhibit. It is machine pieced, features reverse appliqué, a tiny bit of hand stitching, and I quilted it on my domestic machine. It is 26”x 27” and has a sleeve sewn into the back of it for hanging. You’d need to get a small wooden dowel or a thin curtain rod to slip into the sleeve.
